"The GSM Nigeria Consultative Forum, (GSMCF) is the national representative body of the Nigerian GSM industry. The GSMCF seeks to promote greater cohesion between GSM operators and the industry regulator, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Governments at all levels, consumers, the public and all other relevant stakeholders with the aim of ensuring the sustained development of a vibrant Nigerian telecommunications market through self and co-regulatory initiatives. The GSMCF's members are Glo Mobile Nigeria (Glo mobile), Mobile Telecommunications Nigeria Ltd (MTEL), MTN Nigeria Communications Limited (MTN) and Vee Networks Nigeria Ltd (V-Mobile), all of whom are also members of the GSM Association (GSMA).

The GSMA is the global trade Association and umbrella body for GSM mobile operators, equipment manufacturers and suppliers with a membership of over 680 2G and 3G mobile operators and more than 150 manufacturers and suppliers who provide services to an estimated 1.47 billion customers over more than 210 countries and territories around the world."
